One of the joys of having gone overseas is making lifelong friends.

One such friend is arriving in two weeks and I could not be more excited! We are collecting them from the airport and we get to spend over a week with them.

There is just one tiny challenge. Their room currently looks like this.....

Luckily, our painter has fit us into his schedule to have it painted this week.

Next the carpet will need to be fitted and then it will be time for decor (my favourite bit).

I am challenging myself not to purchase any decorations for the room. I will use what we have in the house. I have books and little treasures for the bookcase and vases, cushions, throws etc for the bed. All of a sudden the weather has changed here and it is very chilly, so comfort will be a must for our guests.

I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm hoping they will be OK with the rest of the house being in a guddle (mess) and will be too busy travelling around with us (on a tiki tour, something they used to say in NZ), seeing some of the amazing things our wee country has to offer 😀

We have so many ideas to pack in, a day in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline ( which used to be the capital city of Scotland before Edinburgh), Dunkeld village for lunch, Pitlochry (which has lots of Scottish knick knacks (things)), and some experiences like Edinburgh dungeons, lunch at the Dome restaurant (my favourite place in Edinburgh) and a trip to Scotlands secret bunker (which is a bit of a different tourist attraction).

There is so much to do and cram in, they may need a second and even third visit!!
