Is there anything better than watching birds? I never thought I would say that sentence out loud 😊
One of the first things we did when we got this lovely garden was put in some bird feeders.
We have seen some amazing birds in the garden, some of which we had forgotten about. Coming back from NZ, we were amazed by the number of species we saw… honestly!
We get to sit and watch them at the feeders, going back and forth all day long. We put out sunflower hearts and peanuts. Blue tits LOVE peanuts!
We are also lucky enough to have other visitors to the garden. We have seen everything from roe and fallow deer to hedgehogs, frogs, squirrels, weasels, mice and countless butterflies and insects.
They all go about their business as if we were invisible.
Our house and garden has been here for two hundred years and we are just custodians in part of its long journey.
We feel blessed to live here and add to the history of this place. We are doing our best to leave it much better than we found it.
