I have spent most of this week reading the news when I wake up.
It’s overwhelming.
There are so many horrific things happening around our wee planet and seeing it all made me feel sad. Not just sad, but powerless.
Reading these stories, I realise I can’t help. I wish I could and I bet most people feel exactly the same way.
Seeing the news this week has made me wonder, where is all the good news?
There are so many people out there doing amazing things! Where are those stories?
I think we should have a news channel that only shares positive stories. That shares all the amazing, funny and cute things we all get up to. I would definitely watch that!
It made me think about all the things we can do to add more positive experiences to our lives.
I think that we should talk to our neighbours more and make the effort to seek out more friends of all ages. We should cherish and look after our elders, they have so much experience (and hilarious stories) to share with us.
We should actively remove toxic people from our lives. Life is too short for that nonsense. This is one I am definitely concentrating on!
We should step outside our door every morning (with our cup of tea - I’m so Scottish 😂) and just look around us, even for a few short minutes, appreciating the fact that we are able to have another day to make memories in this beautiful place.
Some beautiful things that happened this week for me included;
Seeing some of our grandchildren, watching them is awesome. Children are so unconsciously clever and funny 😊, having dinner out with my lovely hubby at a cool restaurant, and picking even more veg from the garden to cook and enjoy. I mastered our pizza oven, more to come on that!!!! I also had a really relaxing bubbly bath with a glass of wine. If that doesn’t make you feel better, I don’t know what will!
A photo from the stunning island of Rhodes in Greece. We visited just before the recent wildfires. Greece is a beautiful country with beautiful people who I hope are now safe.
