It's finally time for all things gardening. Now, that being said, we are expecting snow this week, so the gardening is all being done indoors.

There is always an exception. Yesterday, we planted Parsnips in one of the veg beds. They need the cold snap to germinate apparently and they are definitely going to get one this week!

I have all my little seeds planted and have split all my packs into months for planting. I have January underway, which included coriander, rosemary and tomatoes and now I have just began with February which includes spring onion, Swiss Chard and Lettuce in our polytunnel and more tomatoes, coriander etc in the house.

Some of the beds are underway with Onions and garlic planted in October last year. I have never grown garlic before so I'm super excited to see how we get on.

Getting the garden ready for spring/summer always seems hard to me, but once I'm out there, I love it and I could stay there all day!

We have to prune our larger apple tree, as it had not been pruned for many years before we moved in and it also has scab which is a fungal disease that makes the apples look awful. Last year we pruned a lot of the tree and this year it will have a second prune to finish shaping it and then, before it's buds open, we will need to spray it with an organic spray. I want to give the tree every chance to recover as it is a mature and productive tree.

We also need to prune other plants, tidy up dead leaves etc (after the snow, as little creatures may be hiding and keeping warm). We are also starting on a new area at the back of our house and we are looking into adding a natural swimming pond so watch this space!!

Happy gardening to you all x
