Hi everyone, it's been a wee while. Happy Saint Andrews day. If you're not sure, Saint Andrew is the patron Saint of Scotland. When you see the Scottish flag, it has the Saint Andrews cross on it.
I would be at home relaxing and celebrating with my Hubby, but I am travelling for work again.
I'm back in the beautiful US, this week I'm in Boston and tomorrow I travel down to Utah for a week.
A wonderful thing happened at the airport. I asked if the check in lady could check my seat on my second long flight from London to Boston as I am a scardy cat and prefer an aisle seat. I was allocated a seat in the middle of three and I asked if we could change it.
She found me a seat of two but at the window. I was very grateful and said two seats together was no issue. She wished me a happy flight and I was on my way!
Little did I know until I got on the plane that it was a seat in premium economy! Wow, what an amazing surprise!!
The only complaint from me was the incredibly sick guy next to me. He coughed, sneezed, snuffled and sniffed his way to Boston with me. I could only silently pray to whoever was listening that I did not catch what he had!
Now I'm here though and I really have to say, I have met some really wonderful people. I'm not driving, so tried to find a taxi at the airport. Three people gave me directions to a construction area (there were signs for taxis but none were there), then I found a sign that said Uber, and a lovely man helped me to book one, stayed with me while I waited and made sure I got in OK. He was originally from Nigeria but had been in the US for 19 years. My Uber driver was from Dominican Republic and told me of all the beautiful places I should visit in his homeland. I love hearing people's stories, it's really amazing how connected we all are and just how small and precious our little world is.
I should mention my next post will be an update on all the work we have done finishing the house and decorating etc and of course, getting ready for Christmas, my absolute favourite time of year!! We have more visitors from New Zealand coming just before Christmas, so another adventure awaits!!
Stay safe everyone 🙏
