Today, my hubby did something we never thought would be possible, he handed in his resignation to retire early.

Ok, he is only a few years away from retirement age, but this is still something we never thought he would be able to do.

Life is so short. Recently, a few of our friends, friends of friends and people we knew from school days have passed away. I'm not sure what the average life expectancy is these days, but it has been a big reality check for us.

We feel so lucky to be in the position to do this. Don't be mistaken though, we will need to tighten our belts, we will be selling our home soon and moving to a less expensive house, changing our car and we went to see a financial advisor to help us budget both for now and for the future, but if it means my hubby can relax, start new hobbies and enjoy himself more, then it's worth it.

He has been amazing. When we moved to NZ, he worked 12 hour shifts, six days a week initially to help us settle. He worked tirelessly on all our house renovations and continues to be an amazing support. We did a lot of crazy things to help us integrate and settle, but you do these things because you are a couple, you love each other, and you support each other.

Well, I can honestly say that all the craziness so far has been worth it because Campbell is now free to do things he wants to. If he wants to sleep in, stay up late watching movies, watch football (his biggest hobby 😂), then he can!

Can't wait till it's my turn and we can have loads more adventures together!
