I can hardly believe it, but it's almost April and this morning I woke up to snow everywhere!! It was forecast but not the amount we received!

For me, it's like Christmas all over again. I love snow, it makes everything so pretty. I quickly grabbed my wellys (Wellington boots) and hopped into the garden with my camera in hand to take a few photos (because it could be gone just as quickly as it came). I fed the birds and they were straight to feeders as soon as I had filled them. I swear, the birds can see me with seeds in hand from a mile away!

Snow makes me happy, living overseas and not seeing it for so many years, really made me appreciate just how special it is. We are so lucky here in Scotland to get a little of every season (although sometimes it's all in one day!). I am relearning all the beautiful plants that grow here. Right now, we have daffodils and crocus in full bloom signifying that spring is here (even with snow), with snowdrops just finishing. Next will be all our summer flowers and fruits and vegetables!

I spent the weekend planting approx 100 spring bulbs around the garden and veg seeds in the polytunnel so I guess this will be a bit of an experiment to see if anything grows after this snow. One thing we can depend on is that Scottish weather is very changeable. I wouldn't change it for the world though.

For today, I will take time to enjoy my hot chocolate and appreciate our spring snowfall ☺️
