Finally, we got the guest bedroom finished (with two days to spare before our overseas visitors arrive).
Do you remember the before pictures?
First it was painted and then we had to move out the bed to get the carpet fitted. With a full house, moving furniture around was no easy task! Then we had to move the bed back in along with the drawers and wardrobe, that was hard work!! The wardrobe is very heavy and my hubby and I had quite the adventure moving it from our room, down six stairs and back up six stairs across the landing (the house has a split staircase), needless to say there were a few teabreaks involved.
Then we began sorting through some of our treasures to decide what to put in the room.
I have to say I'm pleased with how it turned out. I still need to get a couple of small pictures for above the radiator and a valence sheet for the bed base, but the room feels warm, cosy and inviting.
I also purchased two very fluffy hoodie tops, as I expect our guests to feel a little chilly coming from NZ. It's definitely starting to feel cooler now, just in time for Halloween coming.
The room has a peaceful feeling and I love the old chair by the window. I met my brief not to buy any room decor and I think it turned out well. I hope our guests enjoy staying with us and sleep well in the new room.
